Activity in Galleon Restaurant & Bar

Posted by: david

Olympic Game is coming soon, a lot of the shenzhen bars are preparing for the important celebration. Such as the famous bar:

Galleon Restaurant & Bar, one of the famous shenzhen bars, larger than life-sized Spanish galleon is the most noticeable iconic sculpture when you arrive via the driveway. Your sunset soiree begins in the outdoor gardens with beers from our micro-brewery to complement your dinner. Later that evening, party to the upbeat tempos of our resident Caribbean show band that reverberates from upper to lower decks all night long. Watch out for our day-time Latin dance classes and touring deejays from around the world. Seats 200 in the bar and 400 al fresco.

Stay safe in Shenzhen

Posted by: david

Shenzhen is a fascinating city, you need to be careful in your shenzhen travel.Crime levels in Shenzhen are significantly higher than in neighbouring Hong Kong. That being said, it is still no reason to panic as the crime levels are still comparable with any of the great Western cities like Sydney, London or New York. Use your usual commonsense and avoid going to deserted places alone at night, and you will probably be fine.

Shenzhen has lots of pickpockets, especially in areas like bus and train stations. You’d better look after your things in your shenzhen travel time.

Leave your passports in the Hotel’s safe deposit. Divide your cash by stuffing some in your pants pocket too. these are the basic knowledge of your shenzhen travel.

Be careful to exchange money only with recognized places or people as they may give you fake currency. To be safe, only do your currency exchange at the Bank of China. Be sure to keep an eye on the bigger notes (¥100 especially) given during payment to the salespeople, they may exchange it under the table while you are not watching and claim that you have given them a fake note. It is recommended to always keep loose change (smaller denominations) while taking a taxi or shopping at the market.

McCawleys Irish Bar

Posted by: david

If you are looking for some healthy drop of Guinness beer when you are on your way of shenzhen travel, go in for the shenzhen bars, such as McCawley’s Irish Bar, one of the perfect shenzhen bars.,which offers the authenticity of beer all the way from Ireland. Guinness is made from barley, hops, water and yeast and a single pint contains about 210 calories, which amounts to less the calorie content in a pint of orange juice. McCawley’s Irish Bar and Restaurant is definitely much more than a bar and a great place to eat.

All the shenzhen bars come in a variety of shapes and decors depending on their location. The Irish Bar which started off as the hub of the community as a place to gather at the end of the day and relax in the company of friends and family has come a long way since its inception. Today the shenzhen bars are the place to unwind, to celebrate and shake a leg with some groovy music or merely have a meal in the company of others. Here, at McCawley’s at last, you have a proper pub with a friendly expatriate crowd that is a regular feature of the place.

A good spot to watch sporting events and all the more so for it serves cheap pints, each amounting to about 1 Euro 50 per pint, McCawley’s is located at Shop 118 Sea World Complex, in Shekou off Taizi Road and opposite the Bank of China.

U Bar

Shenzhen bars are unique culture. Almost every young people like staying in the bars to spend their time.

Today we’ll know one of the shenzhen bars - U bar.

The U Bar is a popular hangout among both the locals as well as the expatriates of Shenzhen alike. It is the favorite venue of the youngsters of the city for it plays hip hop jazz music, features a pool table and attracts hordes of crowds at weekends. This is one of Shenzhen’s popular pick-up joints where the ball kicks off at around midnight and begins to decline around three in the morning. The shenzhen bars completely close about five or six, depending upon the number of punters who are frequenting the bar.

In one of the special shenzhen bars, a bottle of beer costs around 3 Euros or 40 Euros for a bottle of vodka. The U Bar is located on the third floor of the Oceana Pacific Plaza on Jiabin Lu. It is one of the highly recommended bars in Shenzhen and to get to it, all you have to do is ask your driver to take you to the Tai Ping Sauna at Jia Bin Lu. This brand new late night bar without cover features a couple of rooms with two kinds of music playing in the atmosphere of an overall cozy layout. If this does not catch on your flavor, one is left wondering which should.

At first, let’s share the feeling of a traveller frome New York Times. Let’s share one of the shenzhen hotels:Hengfeng Haiyue International Hotel

March 19th, 20084:12 pmI

n the Bao’an District, we’ve stayed at the Heng Feng. Good quality, pushing four stars, very convenient and lots of restaurants nearby. Decent International foods along with the noodles houses’ and a great upper scalish chinese place kitty corner to it.

In the mall next door - there’s a Carrefour a great place for stocking up on various toileteries and snacks and other things - if you feel like topping on Americana, there is a Pizza Hut which has salad !!! and the pizza is fine. There is also a wine shop which is very welcomed and offers a surprisingly good selection of French, Italian and some Chilian wines ( the real stuff , not fakes!). The pizza and wine combo with in room HBO is a form of Shenzhen cocooning.

He XiangNing Art Museum

Posted by: david

Sometimes I really don’t know where to go in Shenzhen.Because I want to get the latest art information, but I’m puzzled in choosing. Then my friend suggested me to go to He XiangNing Art Museum during shenzhen travel.

He XiangNing Art Museum — China’s second national modern art museum, in addition to the National Art Gallery of China. It is your first choice of shenzhen travel.  It contains an excellent collection of world-class modern paintings, and is currently host to the “Fresh Eyes 06″ exhibition. It is well worth a visit for anyone interested in art. He Xiangning Art Gallery is located in Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) of Shenzhen. It is accessible via Shenzhen Metro at Hua Qiao Cheng (华侨城) Station, Exit C (or, if closed, use Exit D). Walk west towards the McDonald’s restaurant (in direction of terminus station, from Exit D towards Exit C). The art gallery is next door to McDonald’s (on the left). Admission is just ¥20, and entrance is free on Fridays.

Celebrity Introduction of shenzhen travel:

He Xiangning loved to paint plum blossoms. This painting of plum blossoms depicts springing forth of the flowers from seemingly dead branches of the tree, bringing life and hope

He Xiangning was born in Hong Kong. While still young she went to Japan, were she joined with the group led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen that was endeavoring to overthrow the Qing Dynasty. Politics was an integral part of Ms. He’s life though art was always an overwhelming passion.

Ms. He studied art at the Ueno School of Art in Tokyo. Throughout the remainder of her long life, Ms. He often used her paintings of pine trees, plum blossoms, lions, tigers and landscapes to convey many ofher political views. Ms. He particularly liked to paint plum blossoms whose blossoms are considered a symbol of purity and courage, which dared to challenge the snows and frosts of winter. After returning to China, she came under the influence of the Lingnan School of painters where her earlier Japanese painting influences were replaced by more traditional Chinese forms.

Advice on finding Shenzhen Wedding Event Planners

Any wedding planner or event planner you hire should take time to listen to you (your likes, dislikes, ideas, and budget), then apply their creativity and knowledge to design and manage all the details of your wedding or event. Your wedding planner should provide you with a written estimate of their fees in advance, before signing any contract. Although the wedding planner you hire will do all the legwork, remember that the final decision to go with a particular vendor or theme should always be up to you!

Shenzhen Shopping Mall

Posted by: david

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Dong Men Pedestrian Street is the place to go for clothes and small-ticket items. This place is better than Luohu Commercial City in terms of price and range of items. Other than several department stores, most are smaller stalls. The price is cheap, even at local standard. You can easily spend a day there. [Metro: Lao Jie, exit A]

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Coco Park New shopping mega complex, located near 购物公园 (shopping center Gou Wu Gong Yuan) metro station. Sports clothing, fashion, some restaurants, including “Norway.Oslo” which has some outdoor seating.

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Dong Hai Pacific Mall New movie theatre and 4 level mall, featuring array of restaurants, coffee shops, clothing and other goods. In the heart of 东海(Dong Hai) neighborhood on the westside of 福田区 (the FuTian district). Just 2 blocks from the Sam’s Club/Cinema complex (see below). Accessible from 车公庙地铁站 (CheGongMiao metro station).

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Wal Mart stores (8 and growing!), as well as Carrefour, and Sam’s Club. Sam’s membership is RMB150. In Futian, they are also building a hugh Sam’s/Wal Mart/ multi-plex theatre.

Shenzhen Shopping Center

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

MixC Shopping Mall is for now the largest (and easily the most expensive) shopping mall in Shenzhen. Highlights include the following: Olympic size indoor Ice Skating Rink, Golden Harvest Cinema movie theater, Ole - high end supermarket with many imported items, Spaghetti House, Starbucks, and Taco Bell (not the fast food variety, but an actual restaurant). [Metro: Da Ju Yuan, exit C-3]

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Hua Qiang Bei is much like Dong Men, this is the place for anything electronic. Starbucks is here too. [Metro: Hua Qiang Lu, exit A]

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Shenzhen Book City is a huge bookstore with a great selection of books, music, movies, and multimedia products. The bookstore is the second biggest in the country. 5033 Shennandong Road at Jinshan Plaza. [Metro: Ke Xue Guan, exit A]

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Jusco, the Japanese supercenter if you crave western stuff, it’s here. Next door to the CITIC Mall - with Starbucks. [Metro: Ke Xue Guan, exit D]

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

KingGlory Plaza - it’s a mall, along the lines of MixC…high priced. Does have a movie theater as well as the IN bar/nightclub (that’s the name of it) and YELLOW bar. [Metro: Guo Mao, exit

Shekou is the expat hangout…everything western that you might crave. And they have Western food at the local ParkNShop Store too. Bus numbers 113, K113, 204, K204 and 328 to the end of the line (to the West) will get you to Shekou.

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Central Walk Another Shopping complex in Shenzhen. Base tenant is Carrefour, but also has usual shops, restaurants and a cinema. Starbucks and Italian Best Coffee ( Illy Coffee ) are located here. Subway ( Sandwiches ) also have opened here. Located one block away from the exhibition centre on Fuhua Road. Take Metro to Exhibition Centre stop and Central Walk is located at exit B. 5 minutes walk from Coco Park.

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

SEG Electronics Market A huge market for all things electronic. The first two floors are components (ICs, wires, switches, etc.) and the other 4 floors will supply you with any electronic device your heart desires.

Mingtong Electronics Market Few minutes from the SEG market houses watch parts, electronic toys, and Mobile phone parts.

Shenzhen Shopping Recommendation:

Lo Wu (Luo Hu) Commercial City is just across form the Hong Kong border. It offers a very different experience to shopping in Hong Kong and is therefore worth a visit if only spending a short time in China. Spread over several levels are many small stores, each selling similar products: watches, jewellery, handbags, clothes and DVDs. These products are rarely authentic but are mostly impressively detailed fakes. There are many stallholders pressuring shoppers to part with their money but the atmosphere is one of enjoyable bartering. This is the place to go for Western sizes in clothing and shoes! This is also the place to go to have massages and nails done dirt cheap as well. [Metro: Luohu, exit A]

Shenzhen Travel Guide

Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong (located just south of Shenzhen), Shenzhen’s location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in Shenzhen. From then on, Shenzhen become a highlighted city of China, one known for its rapid economic growth.

More than twenty years ago, Shenzhen just was a small fishing village called Baoan County. In 1979, it was renamed Shenzhen City. When the Special Economic Zone was built, the city was divided into six zones, four of which are located in the Special Economic Zone.

While Shenzhen City does not have as many historical attractions as other famous cities in China, it has created a number of excellent theme parks which entertain while teaching visitors about China and the world. Splendid China and China Folk Culture Villages introduce visitors to China’s long history and varied cultures, while Window of the World will take you to every corner of the world in one day. Additionally, if you want to make your stay even more luxurious, visit Happy Valley, the largest of Shenzhen City’s theme parks, situated on a picturesque coastline. Come enjoy the coastal view, the theme parks, the city, and especially the people of Shenzhen City.

Each year, more and more people come to Shenzhen to try to find employment. As a result, the city has become increasingly crowded. The local government has recently made city-wide environmental improvements in an effort to combat problems caused by overpopulation. In recognition for these improvements, Shenzhen was awarded the Garden City Award in 2000.

While Shenzhen has had to overcome a number of obstacles resulting from this population swell, the city has also benefited from the increased diversity. Workers come to Shenzhen from almost every part of china, bringing with them their local traditions and cuisines. Visitors are able to sample foods from each of China’s famous eight cuisines. Local dishes are also worth trying - Kejia is one of the many dishes that should not be missed.

Thanks to its developed economy, it is easy to get to Shenzhen quickly and comfortably by air, train or ship. What’s more, Shenzhen is the only city in China that provides three modes of transportations for simultaneous comings and goings. Unfortunately local transportation is not equally convenient; transportation in the city is hit-or-miss due to the large population. However, the number of transportation options available helps to counteract the problems caused by crowding. In contrast, lodging in Shenzhen is very easy to do, as there are a number of hotels which frequently host businessmen and visitors from all over the world. Finally, when you visit Shenzhen, make sure that you plan a day trip to Hong Kong, where you can enjoy the sites and attractions of the famous international metropolis.
